Our words become falsehoods if we say we love Jesus and ignore his words. As important as it is for us to live a decent life, we must aspire to the word of God while pursuing the kingdom of God and his righteousness. The reason we come to church is not to meet people, but to meet God, and not to listen to people’s words, but to hear God’s words.

If we eat good food, get enough sleep and exercise for our bodies to perish, but neglect the reading of the word and prayer for our souls, is it possible for us to be called disciples of Jesus? Our lives' motive, direction, and purpose are determined by our faith in Jesus Christ. When we are full of the knowledge of God, we are denied and Jesus within us is clearly revealed. Thus, prayer is not a means of achieving our wish, but an act of self-denial to obey God's word.
